Retrofit Baltimore - A New Civic Works Project

Retrofit Baltimore, a new project of Civic Works, will be meeting at Woodbrook Baptist in Fellowship Hall, August 9th from 7pm - 8 pm
Retrofit Baltimore is a project of the Civic Works, Baltimore’s non-profit service corp. Founded in 1993, Civic Works’ mission is to build a better Baltimore through community service, green job training and environmentally focused initiatives.
Civic Works launched Retrofit Baltimore after realizing that while home energy efficiency upgrades make sense for many Greater Baltimore area homeowners, a lack of trusted information was preventing most homeowners from taking advantage of this opportunity. Retrofit Baltimore seeks to fill this gap by providing homeowners with trusted science-based information about the benefits of an energy retrofit, which include improved comfort and lower energy bills.
At the same time, the widespread adoption of home energy upgrades in Baltimore holds the potential to generate positive change for our local and global communities. Rather than asking homeowners to navigate the energy retrofit process alone, Retrofit Baltimore brings people together so that as a community we can ensure that our investments create family sustaining jobs for under-served Baltimoreans. Moreover, by making their homes more efficient, community members are not only cutting their energy bills, but also lowering their carbon emissions and fighting climate change. Our work has been recognized by Mayor Rawlings-Blake's Weekly Newsletter.
