Volunteer Citizen Sought to Fill Vacancy On BCPS Ethics Review Panel

The following is a press release from Baltimore County Public Schools:

"TOWSON -- The Board of Education of Baltimore County is seeking an interested volunteer citizen to fill a vacancy on the Ethics Review Panel of the Baltimore County Public Schools.

The panel serves as an advisory body to the Board for purposes of interpreting its Ethics Code policies, issuing advisory opinions, and acting as a hearing examiner. The panel consists of five members appointed by the Board of Education of Baltimore County.

To be eligible for consideration for this vacancy, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is a resident of Baltimore County; at least 18 years of age; not hold or be a candidate for any elected or appointed office; not be an incumbent member of the Board, an employee, or the spouse of such person; and not be a registered lobbyist for any organization that may create a conflict of interest.

Applicants interested in being considered to serve as a member of the Ethics Review Panel should send a letter of interest no later than Friday, March 18, 2011, to Dr. Carol R. Batoff, Ombudsman/Administrative Liaison to the Ethics Review Panel, Baltimore County Public Schools, 6901 Charles Street, Towson, MD 21204. A letter may also be sent by fax to Dr. Batoff at 410-828-4084.
