Man Arrested For Sexual Assault in Precinct Six/Towson
Suspect Identified After Arrest in July 19 Peeping Tom and Burglary Cases
Baltimore County, Md. (July 23, 2012) - Ricky Marion Bostic, 43, of the 200 block of Towsontown Court, 21204, was arrested on July 19 after officers responded to a burglary that had just occurred in the 100 block of Versailles Circle, 21204. A 38-year-old woman fell asleep on the couch in her apartment while watching a movie. She woke up when someone tried to open her sliding glass door and she then yelled for her boyfriend. They were able to provide a description of the suspect, and responding officers located the man walking on Towsontown Boulevard a short time later.Chief Praises Work of Officers
"Our officers did an exceptional job in this case. They not only detained this suspect quickly, they looked beyond the original crime to connect him to another very serious offense,” said Chief Jim Johnson. The suspect was also found to be in possession of credit cards taken during an additional burglary. Detectives responded to the apartment, which was located in the same building as the attempted burglary. The victim reported that the cards and money had been taken from her purse, which had been sitting on the nightstand next to the bed where she and her child were sleeping.
Ricky Bostic was arrested and charged with attempted fourth degree burglary, trespassing, peeping tom, disorderly conduct, first degree burglary, and attempted first degree burglary.
Responsible for May Incident
Detectives determined that the suspect also matched the physical description of a suspect responsible for a sexual assault that had occurred on York Road in Towson on May 24.On May 24, officers responded to a home in the unit block of York Road, 21204, for a possible sexual assault. A woman who lived in the home reported that she had woken up in her bedroom to find a black male with a shaved head touching her. She yelled at the suspect, who then fled on foot. There were indications that a second roommate who was asleep in a different room had also been sexually assaulted, but the victim was unable to tell detectives what happened. Forensic evidence recovered from the scene indicated that a sexual assault had occurred.
Detectives were able to link Ricky Bostic to the sexual assault through fingerprints recovered at the scene of the assault to those taken after his arrest on July 19. He was charged with first degree sex offense, first degree burglary, and third degree sex offense.
Ricky Bostic is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
