BALTIMORE COUNTY TRASH, RECYCLING, AND YARD MATERIALS COLLECTION DELAYS
The recent severe weather and resulting power outages have produced extremely large volumes of storm-related debris and spoiled foods to be placed out for collection in Baltimore County. Combined with the July 4 collection holiday and extremely hot working conditions, many areas of Baltimore County are experiencing long delays in trash/recycling and yard materials collections. If your material is not picked up on your scheduled collection day, please leave the material out until it is collected.
Baltimore County residents may also take their trash/recycling and yard materials, as well as storm-related debris, to any of the County's three permanent drop-off facilities:
• White Marsh area - Eastern Sanitary Landfill Solid Waste Management Facility - 6259 Days Cover Road, off 11400 block of Pulaski Hwy. (Route 40 East), Mon. - Sat. 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Cockeysville area - Baltimore County Resource Recovery Facility - Drop-Off Drive, off Warren Rd., ¼ mile West of York Rd. and ¼ miles East of Beaver Dam Rd., Mon. - Sat. 7:00 a.m. - 4: 00 p.m.
• Halethorpe area - Western Acceptance Facility - 3310 Transway Rd., off 4500 block of Hollins Ferry Rd., Mon. - Sat., 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The County has also set out dumpsters at eight fire stations to take only storm related tree debris:
• Arbutus Volunteer Fire Station - 5200 Southwestern Boulevard
• Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Station - 900 Bowleys Quarters Road
• Eastview Fire Station - 1056 Old Northpoint Road, Dundalk
• Lutherville Volunteer Fire Station - 1609 Bellona Avenue
• Parkville Fire Station - 8530 Old Harford Road (dumpster will be on the parking lot of American Legion next door)
• Pikesville Volunteer Fire Station - 40 E. Sudbrook Road
• Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Station - 10010 Liberty Road
• Westview Fire Station - 6300 Johnnycake Road

The dumpsters have been removed as of July 10 from all of the fire stations listed. Rodgers Forge and the other homes on the route that are serviced by Gerber's did not experience any interruption.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rob...this info could still prove useful to people dealing with yard debris...as it did for me at least. I've noticed quite a bit of debris from the storm still sitting by peoples curbs or in their yards.
ReplyDeleteDel, many residents, and I don't blame them, just left their debris in their regular collection spot w/o trimming it, bagging and/or bundling it. Per County regulations, the trash haulers aren't supposed to take debris that is lying on the ground or sitting loose in trash cans. As a friendly gesture to the neighborhood, my friend James, who used to haul trash in the neighborhood for 25 years, and I have picked up some of the loose debris & tossed it in the back of his truck. Hopefully, come Monday, we'll have an opportunity to grab some of the remaining debris.
DeleteExcellent! Thanks for all the help Rob
