Tigerfest Weekend Coming

Special Notice for Rodgers Forge:

Below are details of the upcoming “Tigerfest” weekend for Towson University. Rodgers Forge is not slatted as one of the neighborhoods designated as a special patrol area by the BCPD. However, since we do back up to Towson University the Citizens on Patrol is asking everyone in the community to be aware of activities during the weekend of April 27-29 in case some Towson students feel the need to participate in activities not acceptable during this weekend in our neighborhood. If you see anything suspicious please do not hesitate to call 911 and report the issue. We have been very fortunate over the past couple of years with a major reduction in crime due mostly to you our neighbors keeping a watch out and making that important call when needed. We have random patrols out as often as possible but unfortunately cannot cover all areas as well and as often as we would like. YOU are the backbone to making our neighborhood what it is today. Thanking you in advance for your assistance and help!!

Patrols Increased in Towson Neighborhoods for Tigerfest Weekend

Student and Resident Safety a Priority

Baltimore County, Md. (April 19, 2012) - The Baltimore County Police Department will be partnering with Towson University during Tigerfest weekend, April 27-29. Baltimore County Police will be assisting with any neighborhood problems connected to Tigerfest.

Beginning on April 27 at 11 a.m. and continuing throughout the weekend, special enforcement patrols will be visible in the Donnybrook, Knollwood, Towson Manor and Kenilworth Avenue communities to address any negative impact of Tigerfest on residential neighborhoods.

Officers will be patrolling those neighborhoods to address any disorderly, violent, and illegal behavior, such as:

  • Assaults
  • Loud noise or music
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Setting fires
  • Sexual assaults
  • Indecent exposure/urinating in public
  • Destruction of property
  • Alcohol violations, such as underage possession or open container violations
  • Possession of illegal drugs

Last year, 42 people were charged with civil or criminal offenses during the neighborhood patrols. Most of the charges involved alcohol-related offenses, such as underage possession of alcoholic beverages, possession of false identification, and open containers.

Baltimore County Police would like to remind everyone to drink responsibly, make good choices regarding personal safety, and to respect neighbors who may not be participating in the festivities.
