Due to circumstances beyond our control:
I apologize for the lateness of the past two week s reports. Sgt. Fink was on vacation and our minor earthquake, followed by Hurricane Irene and a long power outage made it impossible to compile the report until this morning.
I do want to personally thank all of you who helped your neighbors and cleaned up after the storm. It has been difficult for many, an adventure for others.
A very special thank you goes out to the RFCOP patrollers who night after night kept watch on the Forge during the power outages. Their dedication and long hours of car, bike, and often foot patrols were a blessing with many incidents discovered and reported to the police for response. Unfortunately there were still thefts of bikes, etc.
If during the storm and power outage you had anything taken and did not make a report with the police, please do so now. Thank you also to the many hundreds from out of state that left their families to help with the power restoration, the police, fire and personnel doing all they could during and after the storm.
