Concerning a letter sent to all RFES students’ families:
Please read the letter dated August 24th from the principal of Rodgers Forge Elementary school.
The letter suggests possible capping of enrollment at West Towson elementary school.
When I asked the principal of RFES what the implications were for Rodgers Forge Elementary School, she did not have any answers. She was instructed by superiors to sign the letter and send to all student families at RFES. All questions and concerns can be sent to Verletta White, Assistant to the Superintendant. Phone: 410-887-4316 email: VWhite@bcps.org. Also, Kara Calder was given as a contact. Email KCalder@bcps.org
There has been one meeting that was not public that occurred prior to letter being sent at West Towson Elementary School. There is another meeting that is not public, on Tuesday September 13th at West Towson Elementary School. There may be decisions made at that meeting. I encourage anyone concerned about the implications of the letter to voice concerns to the contacts provided before the Sept 13th meeting.
I am the parent of a Rodgers Forge Elementary student and am providing the contact and meeting information that I received at a PTA meeting last night as a concerned parent. I received a copy of the letter at my home. The Rodgers Forge Community Association has not discussed the issue nor is there a statement from them on this issue.
