As we all dig out, please keep in mind the following:
1) When cleaning off your car or clearing your sidewalk, do not throw snow out onto the streets.
2) If at all possible, at least do a pathway on your sidewalk for pedestrians.
3) If someone can not get out to the grocery store, maybe Giant Pea Pod service is an option. Also, consider asking neighbors if they may be making a run to the store; they may be able to pick up a few items for you.
4) At some point storm drains need to be opened for the eventual melting.
5) Consider digging out any fire hydrants.
6) HAVE FUN!!!!!!
Any chance we can start a thread where those interested in shoveling snow can post names and numbers? I know a number of neighbors who need the help. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAll a person needs to do is shovel your car or cars out and then if someone you know needs help or can't do it....HELP THEM OUT. It is that easy. If you are lucky enough to live in a block that knows how to help each other out and have become friends as well as neighbors then you turn it into a party! Everyone loves a party even if it includes shoveling.
ReplyDeleteNancy Grasmick has announced that teenagers who help senior citizens shovel their walks or dig out their cars will get community service hours for their kindness.
ReplyDeleteShe said that the form will be posted on the State Dept. of Education site.
It's a good way to contibute to the good Rodgers Forge neighbors.
There is a thread like that on the Rodgers Forge listserv:

I noticed that a few of the alleys have been plowed. Will someone share the name and number of a plowing service and maybe I could organize my neighbors to ante up?
ReplyDeleteI understand that the county will not plow alleys, and trash will not be picked up from alleys until they're cleared.
