Message from Towson U regarding stadium lights this evening

Once again I am reaching out to Rodgers Forge Community to notify you of an exception, as noted in our MOU agreement. This time it concerns our lighting standards and use in Unitas Stadium. A complete set of the standards can be found on our website here. http://www.towson.edu/tuinthecommunity/relations/documents/TowsonUniversityEventSoundandOutdoorLightingStandards.pdf

With last night's snow and ice the men's lacrosse team, which is preparing for a face-off against Hopkins this Saturday, lost their scheduled practice time this morning between 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. as our field crews were amidst snow removal.
Due to players' class schedules, the only time the team can reconvene again for 2-hours is this evening at 10 pm. The use of field lights in the evening requires us to exceed the lighting standard by 1-hour beyond the standard shut-off time at 11 p.m. The lights will be promptly shut off at 12 midnight or earlier.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this exception may cause. Should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach me.
Thank you,

Marina H. Cooper
Deputy Chief of Staff
Office of the President
Towson University
