Rodgers Forge Area Recycle Rate Increases In August

From Rob with RFCOP:

The Baltimore County Bureau of Solid Waste Management recently posted recycle rates
for August on their website www.bcrecycles.com The Rodgers Forge collection area
posted a gain of just over 2% above their July recycle rate.

The August recycle rate was 23.9%. The July rate was 21.8%. For the year, the Rodgers
Forge area recycle rate average stands at 26.12%. This rate is only 4.13% below the leading
area of Brooklandville-Ruxton. This area has led all other areas for the entire year.

If current trends continue for the year, the County will increase its amount of recyclables
collected by only about 150 tons from 2011. Also, if trends continue, the County will actually
collect almost 3000 tons less trash than 2011. Baltimore County's goal of a countywide 50% recycle
rate is far from being reached. Through August, the County's average recycle rate for the year
is less than 15%.
