Rodgers Forge To Be Featured in Towson 4th of July Parade

Interested in participating? Read on! The following is a message from RFC Board members Janice Moore and Mike Calwell:

The Rodgers Forge Board of Governors was informed at the March meeting that our community is going to be the community featured this year during the Towson Fourth of July Parade. So we are seeking residents who would like to walk at the beginning of the parade basically behind the Grand Marshall(s).

Because of logistics, the parade has limited the number of participants from Rodgers Forge to about 30 or 40, so we will sign people up on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to participate, please send the name(s) of the walker(s), contact information (phone and email) and t shirt sizes to mikecalwell(at)gmail.com. You will be notified if you are a walker by the beginning of May. We will also ask some people who did not make the original list to be our "back up" walkers in case someone decides not to participate.

The parade will furnish us with a banner that will need to be carried, and the residents who sign up will walk behind the banner wearing a white t shirt that will have our blacksmith logo (like on the front of this year’s directory)on the back and possibly something very simple like “Historic Rodgers Forge” in the area of where a pocket would be in black. The time commitment would be approximately three hours and the walk is 1.5 miles.

Convinced yet? I have participated in the parade before and let me tell you, it is an experience that you will remember. Please consider walking in the Towson Fourth of July Parade. This will be a wonderful memory for you and your family.

Thank you-
Janice Moore and Mike Calwell, RFC, Inc. Board Members
