5K Race in Rodgers Forge August 28 – 8:00 am

The event is the annual “Get Ready! Get Set! Get Fit!” 5K run which is being held to benefit senior citizens in Baltimore County. The race begins at Towson University's Johnny Unitas stadium at 8am but because of the construction on campus the event will go out into the adjacent community this year. The course is listed below. It should be finished completely by 9:30 a.m. The Baltimore County Police are responsible for directing traffic and closing one lane of traffic for the race. We will also have course marshals along the course to hand out water and provide emergency care if necessary. A permit has been issued by Baltimore County.

Help get the word out to the community. Residents will still be able to get through the neighborhood during the race, but they might wonder what is going on when people start running down the street.

The race proceeds benefit senior citizens in Baltimore County through the provision of exercise classes and fitness centers. It is a fun, intergenerational event that is open to the public. There will be face painters and clowns for the children, and all participants receive a t-shirt and post-race refreshments. There are also awards for the top times in each age category of the run and ribbons for walkers.
