So with the ever growing population of young families in the forge, I find that one of the hottest commodities in the neighborhood is good daycare for the little ones. I felt that this would be a great forum to allow forgers, day care specialists and sitters alike to post (in the comments) some of their reccomendations. If you are or know of any good leads in this department please go ahead and use this as a place to spread the word! There is no shortage of little ones here, that's for sure...so who's out there to watch them while mommy and daddy are unavailable??
Any help would be greatly appreciated by many new families, I am certain!
Speaking of child care, we are actually looking for an afternoon sitter, about 3:30-5:30 weekdays, to get our girls from school (ages 4 and 6), play and make them dinner. ReplyDeleteI am a Friends School teacher and our school offers full time child care to the community from ages 6 weeks and up. Baby Friends offers care for 6 weeks to 2 years of age and then Little Friends goes from 2 years (or maybe 2 1/2 yrs.) to 4 or 5.

I am located across the street from the Rodgers Forge Elementary School and have been providing registered child care for the last 24 years. I am available Monday through Friday and have immediate openings for one child 12 to 24 months old, 4 days a week and full and part time openings for children 24 months and older. As a participant in the Maryland Food Program, each day I provide a nutritious breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack, as well as activities and crafts. ReplyDeleteI am looking for a childcare provider for my son starting in the fall. He will be 9 months old then. My needs are very flexible, so a stay at home mom or college student would be perfect. Ideally I would like the person to come to my home for 4 or 5 hours per day (M-F), but I am flexible about dropping him off somewhere as well if it's near the Forge. And I am willing to pay for a full time spot in a day care if it's the right fit, even though I will only need 20-25 hours of care per week.
