RFCOP Crime Update Week of September 26th - October 2nd

Correction to a 1^st degree burglary originally reported in the Forge:

The 1st degree burglary on 9/8/11 that was listed as occurring on Overbrook has been confirmed as not happening in Rodgers Forge. Both Spot Crime & the Baltimore Sun Crime reports erred by placing an incident from the Wilkens precinct into our precinct. The case number is 112511320.

I was going through reports from the last few years and I'm happy to report some great news. Hopefully, I'm not jinxing anything by posting this now but here is an update on 1st degree burglaries that have occurred at residential homes in Rodgers Forge the past 3 years from January through September.

2009 – 9, 2010 – 6, 2011 – 3 (this includes removing the incorrect listing on 9/8/11)

This downward trend is great news.

· By the end of 2009, there were 19 residential break-ins – 10 October through December

· By the end of 2010, there were 11 break-ins – 5 October through December

The trend those past 2 years had a majority of the break-ins occurring after June. Hopefully, we won't see a repeat of that this year.

The suspect entered the victim’s home through an unlocked door and set off a burglar alarm. The suspect was still in the house when the police arrived. The suspect is known to the victim and was arrested. 1 Female Juvenile Arrested.

An unknown suspect forced open the front door to the residence and removed property. Unknown

09/27/11 0830-1220 11-270-0807 1st Degree Burglary 6500 block Loch Hill Rd. 21239

An unknown suspect broke a back window and entered the residence. The suspect ransacked the house and removed property. A witness observed a black male knocking on the front door for several minutes. Another witness observed a grey Chrysler 300 parked in front of the location. B/M, 18-20, thin build

An unknown suspect entered the residence through an unlocked rear door. The suspect removed property. Unknown

An unknown suspect forced open the side door to the residence. Property was removed from the bedroom, but was found at the top of the stairs. Other property was missing. Unknown
