  1. I can't make it to the meetings due to my work schedule, but would someone please address the number of Cats that roam throughout the Forge. It's illegal in Baltimore County to allow this. I'm tired of dead birds and bunnies in my garden and the occasional fecal matter that is often left behind.

Cats fall under the same leashing, restraint and clean-up rules as dogs in Baltimore County but the number of scofflaws who are cat owners seems to be significant. You should call animal control but they usually cannot get to the scene quickly enough. You can identify the owner to them and they will approach the problem that way. Otherwise, you have to be creative.

Nice. Cat owners don't want to deal with their own cat's crap but expect their neighbors to do it for them.

I feel the only solution to the problem may be to trap the cats and turn them into the pound so they can be adopted by more responsible owners. If they're not adopted they'll be euthanized. Either way the illegal activity will be stopped.

  4. really? euthanize them?

these are cats people...not al qaeda. there are much simpler and more importantly neighborly solutions to this issue...which is really not even an issue.

  5. Most cat owners are responsible and keep their cats indoors, or leashed on their property, as the law requires. Sadly there are cat owners that are rude and inconsiderate. I don't understand this as I'm sure that if one of their neighbors allowed a dog to run free, and freely crap all over the cat owner's lawn, that they would be a bit annoyed by that... and yet the feel it's just fine to let their cat do the same.

If anyone is interested, the number for Baltimore County Animal Control is 410-887-5961. They will loan you a trap, or you can purchase your own for about $20 at Lowes or Home Depot. Ayd probably has them too but I have not checked. If you catch a stray you can call Animal Control and they'll pick it up. Or you can drop it off at their location in Baldwin MD. There's also an SPCA in Hamden that I think will take strays.

I would hope that someone would adopt the cats. It would be unfortunate if they had to be put down because of their owners' actions. However, I think it's rare for adult cats to be adopted so if they end up at the pound that's likely what will happen to them,
