A set of eight (8) books authored by noted African American historian Louis
S. Diggs, autographed by him, and from his private collection, will be part
of a silent auction the 3rd Annual Shrimp Feast benefiting the Historical
Society of Baltimore County.
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, this collection includes the last available copy of Mr. Diggs' first book and a rare hardcover edition of one of his books of which only 50 were bound with a hardcover. (Retail price for the set: $250: Minimum beginning bid: $200)
As participants enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet, they can also bid on a wide
variety of merchandise and experiences donated by the Historical Society's
sponsors.
The new book celebrating Baltimore County's 350th Anniversary, "Baltimore County: Celebrating a Legacy (1659-2009)," will be available for purchase and signature by its author, Dr. Barry Lanman, of UMBC's Martha Ross Center for Oral History.
The event takes place on Friday evening, 11 September, at Columbus Gardens near Baltimore, MD.
