Recent Car Breaks in:
There was a rash of car break ins on Friday evening, January 25th, approximately at 11:00 pm
in the 100 block between Brandon and Stanmore Road. Some broken into,
some not locked. We are again asking everyone to find alternate
parking other than alleys. We understand that parking is tight within
the Forge due to multiple car residences, but it is illegal to park in
the alleys and they are dark thus making it easier to be marked
targets. If you do have a parking pad in the back of your property you
should highly consider outdoor lighting and turning it on at night. An
alternative would be motion sensor lighting. You can purchase them for
approximately $40.00 with various setting features.
Along
with weekly emails (give or take a few days), Facebook and RFCOP web
site, we would like to remind you the Rodgers Forge website also hosts
“the Blog” which contains various information for the community. The
newest communication feature, “Next-door Rodgers Forge” which is a limited
private online network that is a new social media tool. If you missed
this in the Rodgers Forge News of Jan/Feb 2013 issue, below is the web
address along with others that will help you be more informed about your
neighborhood.

Police
are reminding the public to secure their vehicles and to make sure that
valuables are not left in the car. We are reminding residents to take
basic crime prevention precautions to help prevent becoming a victim of
opportunity:
- Always lock your vehicle doors.
- Do not keep spare keys anywhere inside the vehicle.
- Avoid leaving valuables or money inside your car.
- Cover or conceal anything of value that you must leave in the car.
- Park your vehicle near your residence if possible, and leave residential lights on.

January 22: Robbery, Loch Raven Boulevard and Taylor Avenue, 21234
At
12:45 a.m., four suspects approached two victims and demanded property.
One of the suspects struck one of the victims. Three suspects are black
males with thin builds. The fourth suspect is a white male with a thin
build.
January 21: Armed Robbery, 800 block of Dulaney Valley Road, 21286
At
4:52 p.m., four suspects entered the Louis Vuitton store and began
removing purses from the shelves. One suspect sprayed two employees with
an unknown substance. The suspects fled with the items. The first
suspect is a black male, 25 to 32 years old, 5'11", 220 pounds with a
tattoo on his face. The second suspect is a black male, 25 to 32 years
old, 5'11", and 230 pounds. The third suspect is a black male, 25 to 32
years old, 5'11", and 230 pounds. The fourth suspect is a black male, 25
to 32 years old, 5'10", and 220 pounds.
January 20: Armed Robbery - Gun, 6000 block of Falls Road, 21209
At
9:10 p.m., a man armed with a gun entered the Royal Farm store and
demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect fled on foot. The suspect is a
black male, 6', with a medium build.
January 20 to January 21: First Degree Burglary, 6600 block of Collinsdale Road, 21234
Between
5 p.m. on January 20 and 2:12 a.m. on January 21, an unknown suspect
broke a bedroom window and ransacked the apartment. Nothing was taken.
January 16: Robbery, 6600 block of Wycombie Way, 21234
At
6:55 p.m., two suspects approached a pizza delivery man. One suspect
grabbed the pizza box and demanded money. The victim fled after giving
the suspects his money. The first suspect is a black male, 6', and 175
pounds. The second suspect is a black male, 6'1", and 175 pounds.
January 16: Third Degree Burglary, 1600 block of Lyle Court, 21234
At 8:30 a.m., two known suspects climbed through the victim's window and tried to fight with her daughter.
January 15: First Degree Burglary, Unit block of Acorn Hill Lane, 21204
Between 2 and 3 p.m., an unknown suspect broke a garage door window and took alcohol from the home.
January 14: Attempted Second Degree Burglary, 6800 block of Loch Raven Boulevard, 21234
At
3:51 a.m., an unknown suspect attempted to smash the front door and
window of the Wireless 1 Outlet with a brick. Entry was not gained.
January 13: Home Invasion Robbery, 6900 block of Donachie Road, 21239
At
1:25 a.m., the suspects approached the victims as they were entering
their apartment. The suspects assaulted the victims with bats or pipes,
The suspects went through the victims' pockets but did not take
anything. The suspects are four males wearing masks.
Police Alert Residents to Deception Burglaries
(not from the Forge, but something to be aware of)
Suspects Have Struck in Precinct 12/North Point
Baltimore
County, Md. (January 18, 2013) - The Baltimore County Police Department
is alerting citizens to the problem of “deception burglaries” following
two recent incidents in the Berkshire and Norwood communities in
Precinct 12/North Point. Elderly victims were targeted in both
incidents.
- The
first incident occurred on January 4 at 1:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of
Delvale Avenue, 21222. The suspects offered to clean the gutters for the
homeowner and stole items inside the home while “checking the home for
leaks.”
- The
second incident occurred on January 9 around 1 p.m. in the 7400 block
of Belmont Avenue, 21224. The suspects claimed to be County employees
and advised they needed to discuss an issue with the neighbor’s fence.
They used walkie talkies. One suspect distracted the victim while a
second suspect stole items from inside the home.
The
first suspect is described as a white male, 40-50 years old, 5’ 7”
tall, 180 pounds, with dark hair. The second suspect is described as a
white male, 40-50 years old, 5’ 7” tall, 200 pounds, with dark hair.
Both suspects were seen wearing tan or khaki pants.
Stay Alert
Residents
are reminded to be alert to anyone in their neighborhood looking to
perform home repairs, or asking to gain entry into the home. Be sure to
ask to see identification and let the visitor know you are going to call
for authorization from their company before allowing them access.
Remember, do not intervene, but call 911 immediately about suspicious activity.
