I am happy to announce that over the next two years, Baltimore County
will resurface thirteen routes in Rodgers Forge and Gaywood. The total
project will improve about six miles. It is one of the most
comprehensive road resurfacing plans for any major neighborhood in the
Fifth District, and the largest in Towson.
Baltimore County will resurface
Blenheim, Dorking, Dumbarton, Dunkirk, Gaywood, Glen Argyle,
Heathfield, Hopkins, Midhurst, Murdock, Overbrook, and Pinehurst Roads,
as well as Regester Avenue.
Some streets will be resurfaced
earlier than others. Regester Avenue and Glen Argyle and Heathfield
Roads will be resurfaced first. On the other streets, the county plans
to make upgrades to the sewer lines, so that will occur later. When I
know a more definite timeline, I will alert the Rodgers Forge Community
Association so any questions can be answered. I am also working to
improve crossings as we work to make Rodgers Forge more
pedestrian-friendly.
While the state government has
slashed the money we receive for road repairs, Baltimore County will
invest an additional $20 million in road resurfacing over the next two
years. Much of this funding will go toward Towson's aging road
network. In addition to Rodgers Forge, neighborhood streets in West
Towson, Towson Manor Village, and Anneslie will be improved over the
next two years. I thank the County Executive for his support of these
projects.
