Bulk Trash Items Will Be Collected At The Rodgers Forge Elementary School Front Parking Lot. Simply drive up and our volunteers will direct you to the correct dumpsters (since if trash is not properly placed in the correct Dumpsters, our community will be charged extra.) Please note, you must be a Rodgers Forge resident to use our dumpsters for disposal purposes on this day. You can pay your community association dues, too, if you had not already done so. Do your neighbors a favor, too, and pick up and bring any bulk trash in your alley to the dumpsters.
Can you volunteer to help unload? Just show up to lend a hand and back. Volunteers are advised to wear work clothes and bring a pair of work gloves.

Yard Waste ▪ Paper ▪ Mattresses▪ Carpets ▪ Metal Waste ▪ and Appliances with Freon ▪ AmVets will have a truck for: Reusable Furniture and Working Computers ▪ The Loading Dock will take Undamaged Wood and most other materials that can be used in the building and home construction trades

Event at Towson University - Blackhawk Helicopter Landing

I want to give you a heads up about a drill (see announcement below) that will occur at Towson University’s campus on the 14th. We will have a Black Hawk helicopter landing in the field near the Towson Center at about 10:15 a.m. Departure will be about 12:30 p.m. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Operation STAT Disaster Drill Scheduled for Wednesday, April 14The College of Health Professions will stage the third Operation STAT disaster drill at Burdick Hall on Wednesday, April 14. Hundreds of students will volunteer as “victims” of a mock tornado who will be tended to by Towson University students of nursing and other health professions.
“This mass casualty exercise will provide our nursing and other health professions students an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in first responder activities that most health professional don’t get until the real emergency strikes,” said Marcie Weinstein, Ph.D., associate dean of the College of Health Professions and the director of the Office of Collaborative Programs.
Also participating in the drill as an exercise in sharpening and maintaining emergency readiness will be clinicians from the 10th Medical regiment of the Maryland Defense Force (MDDF), a uniformed military agency of volunteers under the Adjutant General of Maryland and the Maryland Department of Mental Hygiene (DHMH). Representatives of the American Red Cross, MD State Police, the mortuary profession, and the mental health professions are expected to take part in the drill. The 58th Troop Command of the Maryland Army National Guard will support the exercise with equipment and supplies.
We are also adding a new component this year that we are excited about which is a Blackhawk helicopter landing and “patient loading” that will take place on a landing zone (LZ) on one of the fields behind the stadium at the Towson Center.

Census Rallies
Below is a cut-and-paste from an email from the Baltimore County Police Department.

The Census Bureau staff requested that we ask our communities to recruit volunteers to rally for the Census 2010 "March to Mailbox" on April 10, 2010 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (tentative).
Rallies can be held in any neighborhood and the Census folks are willing to help them organize. If any individual or group is interested, they can contact Ms. Nicole Davis, at nicole.l.davis@census.gov 410-901-7347

Burglaries in RF - Important Information
Below is a message from Sgt. Fink with the Baltimore County Police Department:
Good Morning, got a bit of bad news for the Forge but just as in the past I know if we work together we can put a stop to it again.
As Police we are seeing the beginnings of a Burglary trend once again in Rodgers Forge. As the weather broke for the better last week (3/11,12/2010) unknown person(s) decided to take advantage of several residences.
Thus far we have three reports but no suspect information. Two of the incidents we have confirmed as "cat-burglaries"--defined as the residents were home at the time of the burglary, either asleep in their beds or in another part of the house, and the suspect(s) able to access a first floor (ground floor) room of the house through an open/unsecured window or door and grabbing whatever of value may be immediately accessible. Usually these type of burglaries target the kitchen area where the resident has opened a window or door and has left an item of value (i.e.,pocketbook, wallet, cellphone) on the kitchen table within easy access of that door or window and all the suspect(s) need to defeat is a screen window or storm door thus they're in and out very quickly. These are still reported as First Degree Burglaries and when we apprehend the person(s) responsible that's how they're charged, "cat-burglary" is reference to the m.o.
What we need from you is to get the word out to the community to properly secure their homes when they're away or asleep; secure their valuables whether home or away, don't leave things out in plain view that could be easily removed, take away the temptation.
As always we'd like to be informed anytime anyone sees a suspicious/unknown person or vehicle in the area so we can check things out and thus keep the community as safe as possible. [Emphasis added]
Talking with Detective Parker, from our Burglary Team, and Detective Bankert, PC06 IST, right now we have no suspect information reference to these three cases.
