Alert! County Police Need Your Help!
From the Baltimore County Police Department:
Good Day, want to give everyone information reference to a crime trend affecting several communities in Towson.
Since March of this year there have been nine (9) residential burglaries plus a suspicious condition targeting single homes, townhomes and apartments. Between PC06 Officers and Detectives, Burglary Detectives and Crime Analysis we've learned these burglaries are occurring from late afternoon to very early morning hours during the week--mostly Mondays and Wednesdays.
The person(s) responsible have targeted rear entry points--windows or doors--and they've unscrewed exterior lights on some homes to hide the activities.
Property taken has been electronics--televisions, laptops, ipods--and money, mostly small items, close to the point of entry, easily removable and even concealable (smaller items).
With everything that has been determined thus far we are asking that you, once again, get the word out to your residents to properly secure their homes, outbuildings (sheds, garages), and belongings to protect against these types of crimes.
Should anyone observe suspicious vehicles or persons in the area please call 9-1-1 so an Officer can respond to investigate.
As expressed in past messages by doing their part to secure and protect their property the residents are truly helping to reduce the frequency of crime in the Towson area. We all want the entire Towson community to be as safe and peaceful as possible and by everyone taking an active part we can accomplish this goal.
Possible person and vehicle of interest: 30-40 year old African-American male with a scruffy beard; a bright red car, possibly a Honda or Nissan. No further descriptions on either presently, but will update you as the information comes to us.

DUMPSTER DAY IS SATURDAY
May 8th, from 8:00 A.M. until NOON
Bulk Trash Items Will Be Collected At The Rodgers Forge Elementary School Front Parking Lot. Simply drive up and our volunteers will direct you to the correct dumpsters (since if trash is not properly placed in the correct Dumpsters, our community will be charged extra.) Please note, you must be a Rodgers Forge resident to use our dumpsters for disposal purposes on this day. You can pay your community association dues, too, if you had not already done so. Do your neighbors a favor, too, and pick up and bring any bulk trash in your alley to the dumpsters.
Can you volunteer to help unload? Just show up to lend a hand and back. Volunteers are advised to wear work clothes and bring a pair of work gloves.
ACCEPTABLE ITEMS FOR DUMPSTERS:
Yard Waste ▪ Paper ▪ Mattresses▪ Carpets ▪ Metal Waste ▪ and Appliances with Freon ▪ AmVets will have a truck for: Reusable Furniture and Working Computers ▪ The Loading Dock will take Undamaged Wood and most other materials that can be used in the building and home construction trades

Event at Towson University - Blackhawk Helicopter Landing

I want to give you a heads up about a drill (see announcement below) that will occur at Towson University’s campus on the 14th. We will have a Black Hawk helicopter landing in the field near the Towson Center at about 10:15 a.m. Departure will be about 12:30 p.m. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Operation STAT Disaster Drill Scheduled for Wednesday, April 14The College of Health Professions will stage the third Operation STAT disaster drill at Burdick Hall on Wednesday, April 14. Hundreds of students will volunteer as “victims” of a mock tornado who will be tended to by Towson University students of nursing and other health professions.
“This mass casualty exercise will provide our nursing and other health professions students an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in first responder activities that most health professional don’t get until the real emergency strikes,” said Marcie Weinstein, Ph.D., associate dean of the College of Health Professions and the director of the Office of Collaborative Programs.
Also participating in the drill as an exercise in sharpening and maintaining emergency readiness will be clinicians from the 10th Medical regiment of the Maryland Defense Force (MDDF), a uniformed military agency of volunteers under the Adjutant General of Maryland and the Maryland Department of Mental Hygiene (DHMH). Representatives of the American Red Cross, MD State Police, the mortuary profession, and the mental health professions are expected to take part in the drill. The 58th Troop Command of the Maryland Army National Guard will support the exercise with equipment and supplies.
We are also adding a new component this year that we are excited about which is a Blackhawk helicopter landing and “patient loading” that will take place on a landing zone (LZ) on one of the fields behind the stadium at the Towson Center.
